Women Come To Rockland NY In Search For Two Ls
Quoting the quintessentially best-dressed Carrie Bradshaw, “Twenty-something women come to New York City in search of the two L’s: labels and love”. In dire attempt to follow her (stilettoed) steps, I journeyed all the way to New York to search for my two L’s: lawn care and
landscaping.
Rockland, NY, this is where my search finally lead me. Like the fashionable fictional heroine who found both labels and love in the big city of dreams, I found both landscaping and
lawn care Rockland in New City. You won’t usually find New City, Rockland County on the ‘living large in the big city’ list of twenty-something women. For one, the county is the smallest in the state. Regardless, the place is big on things that matter: lawn care, landscape and
tree service Rockland.
Carrie found her heaven on 5th (Avenue); I found mine on a professionally landscaped lot in New City, Rockland County. I didn’t believe in love at first sight until I laid eyes on the picturesque fenced lot. With such marvelous sight to see – a house straight from the pages of House Beautiful – anyone can be made a convert.
If Carrie and her best girls were dressed from head to toe in love, I was decked in
topsoil Rockland. That label, for me, would never go out of style. Don’t mistake me for a walking fashion mishap, I walk the
paving of my Rockland, NY dream home in Stuart Weitzman double platform pumps the way Carrie and the girls strut the concrete streets of Manhattan in Louboutins. Lesser priced shoes in exchange for proper lawn maintenance – yes, women have other priorities.
No, I haven’t completely traded in shoe shopping for landscaping; I have my guys to handle lawn service. Yes, like how Smith Jarred has Samantha to handle his career, single-handedly at that. Unlike Carrie’s ‘heaven on 5th’, my single detached brick house is set on a charming landscaped lot. If all she can work on to make her house one sweet home is that big walk-in closet of hers, I can work on my lawn to make my home just as saccharine. One thing you don’t get in the big city: a sprawling, highly manicured lawn out back or front. A rooftop garden, let alone artificial greenery on the balcony, just won’t do it for me.
Here’s hoping New York Magazine will make Rockland County the new Manhattan. Yes, whoever would write about that lives in Rockland County.
