The phone is fairly hefty for a modern phone, weighing six ounces and standing almost five inches tall. Because it is a bigger device than most users will be able to enjoy viewing capabilities as it has a nice wide screen. It makes it simple to view websites, and the on screen keyboard is very easy to use. The home, menu, back, and search buttons make it easy to navigate the phone's features. There are not too many accessories that come with the phone, however. Little more than chargers are included. Not even a holster is included with the package.

HTC Sense is one of the best spins on the Android operating system available, with a very straightforward interface. This program allows for you to be able to see all of your emails and even your schedule. There is a handy widget also informs you of the weather in your area. The Group Contacts widget allows you to categorize your contacts. Directly front the contacts list, you can see all of the recent communications you have had with any given contact. Friend Stream keeps you up to date on Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr through one interface. The Leap screen lets you organize thumbnails of all of your favorite apps and widgets so they are easily accessible.

The Android 2.1 operating system allows you to use voice to send a text message, provides you with Google Maps navigation, and offers animated wallpapers. The Android 2.2 operating system is now available with the phone as well. The Evo is the first phone to come with the high quality YouTube player, and an HDMI port allows you to stream high definition videos to your TV. The front facing 1.3 megapixel camera allows video chat to take place. This is the first US phone to provide genuine video chat capabilities. The 8 megapixel camera is great for taking clear pictures and HD video recordings.

The 4G speeds are a definite step up from 3G, and the wireless hotspot allows you to connect eight other devices to the internet. 4G can be as much as ten times faster than 3G. Unfortunately, 4G is not available in a great deal of places yet, and the 10 dollar mandatory data package that comes with it isn't fair to those who don't live where 4G is available. 4G was also somewhat disappointing when using Sprint TV. Although the Hotspot feature is very handy, it costs an additional $30 from the already $80 plan, many users will opt not to use this feature while others will.

Calls came through very clearly in comparison to the competition, although the speakerphone quality was only decent. The HDMI output is an useful feature, although it does not offer any settings. No matter what video source is being used, the feed is output at 720p. The 8 megapixel camera is great for recording HD video, better than most phones but not as good as a digital camcorder. The battery is made to support up to twelve hours of continuous use and with elite processor that can handle multitasking, this device is still one of the best phones on the market.
