I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. After all, I am living in a small a couple of hours near Houston and to be honest, the best place to gather for celebrations is just to rent banquet hall facilities and event services. The largest spaces that we have in our small town are probably either in the local school or out in the fields. Both are open air spaces. Good in a way but it is prone to weather changes and it just is not quite like being the city with all the lights and finery that comes along with it. Also, the field usually isn’t the best place to wear a tuxedo or a gown, if you get what I mean. It’s hilarious! Consider this for a moment: you are on your high school prom, you are dancing with your date and it’s all lovey-dovey for everyone. You are about to seal the deal with a kiss! What a romantic moment! Suddenly, a cow comes wandering over, curious what the hullabaloo is all about. Boo! I mean, moo! See what I mean?
In my opinion, it is better to stay on the safe side because a lot of things can happen when you are outdoors: the rain pouring, lightning strikes, wind toppling over the tables and messing everyone’s hairdo, cows, ducks or chickens gate-crashing your party, just imagine the possibilities! I can go on and on here, I’m not kidding.
I remember my prom and it was a blast! No cows there! Maybe one or two! No! Just kidding! Bad joke. But anyway, I met my current girlfriend there and we’re still together! After four years, we’re still going strong. Maybe I’m just lucky I met her, but I’m sure more memories are to come and I know that many of them or at least some of them will be in a banquet hall. If this continues unabated, I might have to get married in one!
