According to him, he is a homeowner just like me and many others thus his empathy for his customers should not come as a surprise.
The following day, Mr. Nice Guy I spoke to on the phone arrived early at my place with his team of repair men and they started to fix the problem areas of my house. They did an excellent job but before they left, they noticed my yard was too dry and without a single plant in it. Since I was missing my garden in LA, I thought having some greens will keep me from getting homesick. They planted some regular plants after a week and maintained it regularly for a month without charging me extra.
Nowadays, no passerby would ever think that my house used to look so haunted and unlivable.
