Every time I visit these cities, the first design element that captures my eye is the roofing. For a lot of people, a roof is just a necessity since it protects residents from bad weather and other forces of nature. It’s that part of the house that is often taken for granted since many homeowners don’t normally care about their roofs for as long as there are no leaks or cracks, they don’t see why they have to give it their attention. When it starts to leak and they don’t feel protected anymore, that is the only time homeowners do something to fix their roofs. Fortunately, the residents of the five cities I mentioned here prioritize their roofing more than anything else. Roofing for them is not just a covering or a protection, but it is also an integral part of the design of their home.
Roofing in San Jose is one of the major projects of homeowner. Roofing contractors in Los Gatos, on the other hand, don’t know which house to work on first because they are so in demand as residents want their roofs to be always in tiptop shape.
I’ve read in magazines that roofing in Santa Clara is normally made up of wood shingle. Wood shingle roofs have three types: Western Red Cedar, Alaskan Yellow Cedar and Eastern White Cedar. All of which grows gray or silver as time goes by, adding to the regal effect of the roof. It is relatively smooth and uniform in thickness but differs in width.
Last week when I visited Los Altos, I saw a house that is being sold for a very low price. It is a two-story cozy townhouse with an attic and a basement. It appears adorable from across the street but when I came closer to inspect it, the real estate seller informed me that its roof needs re roofing first. I said that it was okay with me to shoulder the repairs, as there are a lot of re roofing companies in Los Altos anyway. As I was signing the contract, my mom called me and said she had found the perfect house for me at Palo Alto. I canceled my contract signing with the real estate seller so I can check the other house. When I arrived at the house, I was ecstatic. My mom was right. It was the perfect house for me. She also surprised me by actually buying the house for me and calling the roofing repairs in Palo Alto to redesign my roof.
