Heating and air conditioning in Ca is imperative because people in this area experience extreme weather conditions. Six years ago, we purchased an air conditioning system and an oil furnace in Ca and it did not seem to hurt our budget, but since our finances had dwindled as of 2008, we couldn’t even manage to avail an air conditioning repair in Northridge. To make matters worse, our furnace broke down the other day thus leaving us in the cold just when a furnace is badly required nowadays due to the wetness of the weather.

Perhaps, for the time being we can survive without air conditioning in our Northridge abode but I wonder how we can possibly make it through the following storms in the forecast without a furnace.

I was in deep thought while browsing the net in hopes of finding a company that offers secondhand oil furnaces when I accidentally stumbled on the website of a company in California providing heat pumps. Reading through, I found out that buying a heat pump could save you a chunk of money than buying two separate appliances such as an air-con and a furnace to balance the ventilation in your house. Since the heat pump works both ways – as heater and cooler – it really makes sense to have this thing.

Heat pumps are pretty much like air-conditioners except that the latter is only capable of emitting cool air by means of evaporating refrigerants such as Freon. Heat pumps, on the other hand, gather hot air from the ground and bring it inside your home to give you warmth, or to make your home cooler, it draws internal air and pumps it outside.

Another good news for me is that heat pumps require lower energy consumption. Like air-cons, heat pumps make use of the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) to monitor the usage of electricity. If your heat pump’s SEER is 13 or above, it goes to show that you are consuming less power.

As I continued to read the website content, I also learned that keeping your heat pump in high performance is so much easier than I thought. Conducting regular checkup of its main parts like the control circuit board, defrost timer, refrigerant suction and discharge apparatus among others will prolong the life of this appliance and what’s more, you won’t be required to shell out money for a repair job.
