Fallout 3 is a story that maintains a "Fallout Universe". The game takes place in the year of 2277 after the "World War III" over natural resources, which grows into a nuclear war between China and US, on the East Coast of what used to be the United States of America, mostly in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. So, the player who is a inhabitant of one of the remnant shelters in the area of Washington DC named Vault 101, which was pre-programmed to be opened after a certain amount of time, wakes up one morning and finds out that his father is gone, he disappeared under very weird conditions. The Vault overseas claims that the player himself was implicated in his father's so called run away and makes a decision to arrest and kill the player. So the player has no other choice left, but to leave the sanctuary and find his father. He ventures into deserted and desolated district a bombed-out version of Washington DC, now known as Capital Wasteland. The focus of civilization is in the ruins of the former capital Rivet City.
alongside the way, the player will meet various conflict including the Brotherhood of Steel, a religious union with roots in the U.S. Military from the American West Coast, the Outcasts-a group of Brotherhood of Steel exiles, the super mutants, who since emerging from their refuges have waged a continuous war against humans to infringe their territory and of course the Enclave, the excusive leftovers of the U.S. Government, who are now under the guide of new President of United States- John Henry Eden. These are the player's biggest enemy in the game.
Fallout 3 itself is a deep and thrilling game, very focused and blazing. This focus is explained by character creation and story description being beautifully woven together. One of the best advantages of the Fallout 3, is that you are free to make your own decisions during the game- choices are ruled only by your own sense of civility. Like for every completed "bad" choice, you make your karma (important statistic track) go down and vice-versa, for every precious deed, your karma goes up. Karma determines your reputation.
Fallout 3 lingers true to the series personality expansion structure, using a similar system of parts, skills, and perks, counting the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. System from prior Fallout series for your attributes, such as force and tolerance. They're important aspects of character development that can create interesting new options.
Fallout 3 is far from being a ordinary run-and-gun event. This is because the most violent moments of battle are products of the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (VATS), which plays a major task in combat.
