Shoes, high heels in particular, are said to be a girl’s best friend. Ask any woman how many pairs of shoes she has and chances are she’ll answer with a casual “oh, but you can never have enough”. What goes best with the quintessential gal’s best friend? Well, the best commercial flooring services.

Heels hold that much power that some women claim they can go on about without makeup, without washing their hair and without having to lose a stone (and a half) as long as they have on a good pair of heels. For one, heeled shoes, no matter the height, can make any woman feel tall, sexy and stylish. The moment you put on a pair, you’re suddenly posture-perfect – legs seem longer, breasts perkier, back straighter and stride way better. The instant you slip them on, the world just seems to be a fairly better place. Feelings of grandeur consume you. You are woman, you rule the world.

Only one thing can send you crashing down, and literally at that: faulty commercial floor covering.

It’s one thing to wear killer heels and another to wear heels that kill you. It’s bad enough to wobble in heels, and a whole lot worse to walk in wobbly heels on slippery floor. So, what’s a woman to do? Check if all vinyl floor coverings are intact before stepping into a resto? Make sure the café only has hardwood flooring material which is, by far, the most sky high heel-friendly floor? Cancel a movie date so to avoid the parquet floors – and possible humiliation – at the cinema lobby? Seriously, women!

Fear not slipping into Elie Tahari, strapping on Ann Demeulemeester and striding in Manolo Blahnik. As long as you know you’re walking on laminate wood flooring, installation faultless and all, you’re pretty much set. Kidding aside, the type of floors shouldn’t really worry high heels-loving women. Well, except if the floors are covered in ice, mud or sand. To think of it, floors shouldn’t be an issue at all given that you know the right pair of heels to wear and how to walk in them.

For starters, two inch-heels may already be a mouthful. Strap on the comfiest pair possible and practice, practice, practice. Start by prancing around your house or office. Remember that legs should be straight and close together and feet should be pointing forward when walking. Steps should be smooth, even, not too short or too long. Arms should be swinging on either side and chin must be held up high.

There you go with some bit of tips. Oh, and add to that, floors are friends not foes.
