A lot of audit reports on monetary statements present the business an untouched bill of health, or a pristine thought. At the other end of the range, the auditor may explain that the financial statements are false and shouldn't be relied upon. This adverse audit report is referred to as an adverse assessment. That's the big stick that auditors carry. They have the power to provide a businesses monetary statements a stressful thought and no business needs that. The warning of a stressful guess almost always motivates a corporation to give way to the auditor and change its accounting or uncovering in order to break away from getting the kiss of death of an adverse opinion. An adverse audit thought says that the fiscal statements of the business are deceptive. The SEC doesn't go along with negative opinions by auditors of public businesses; it may eliminate trading in a businesses stock share if the corporation received an adverse guess from its CPA auditor.

One correction to an auditor's report is very deep - when the CPA firm states that it has significant concerns about the capability of the business to continue as a going concern. A going concern is a corporation that has adequate financial wherewithal and motivation to carry on it average operations into the foreseeable future and would be able to take in a damaging turn of events minus having to default on its liabilities. A going concern doesn't face an imminent financial crisis or any important monetary crisis. A corporation could be under some monetary distress but overall still be judged a going concern. Except if there is hint to the contrary, the CPA auditor assumes that the corporation is a going concern. If an auditor has severe concerns about whether the business is a going concern, these concerns are indicated in the auditor's report.
