With my fat ass and my almost non-existent head of hair, I could surely get any girl’s attention. I’ve had one too many members of the opposite sex turn their perfect heads at me only to give me disgusted looks as if I were some deviant sexual purveyor. So I’m that guy known for his looks – awfully bad looks that is – that I have to make time and effort for women to take interest in me. So when I had my (second) chance encounter with Jen when she came to the shop for dri wash and guard, I knew that was an opportunity I couldn’t let pass.
She stepped out of her Honda Civic, hair blowing ever so lightly even in the absence of wind. It could have been my imagination, but there was wind in her hair and a bright glow upon her face. I was positive I’ve seen her before, and then I remembered where exactly and was hell bent on letting her know about our previous encounter. She brushed past me on her way to the shelf of waterless car products. I’m not quite sure but I think I saw a small smile creep up her lovely face when the sleeves of our shirts brushed ever slightly. My eyes were on her, boring two deep holes at the back of her head as I stared intently, without her knowing of course. She looked around as if looking for someone. Luckily there was no one but me at the time and we locked eyes in an instant. Her luscious lips parted and I got distracted that I barely heard her velvety voice when she asked about our waterless car wash and wax. As if on cue, Miguel came up to her side and before I knew it she had her intense blue eyes on him instead of on me. How can she not look at the tall, dark, ridiculously chiseled Latino? To add to that he knew all there was to know about FW1 auto maintenance.
I was that determined to get Jen’s attention. I vowed to cut down my muffin consumption to two pieces a day instead of five, and try hitting the gym - with Miguel as a likely gym buddy. I also made plans of in-depth race car researching so I could wow her with my knowledge. Next time she comes in for a fast wax, she’s sure to notice no one else but me.
