I learned it the hard way. I, now, belong with the working class. Instead of burning my eyebrows for a French literature exam, I stay up late to finish business presentations for big deals. I used to be anxious about spring breaks, now I roam in style with my Napa Valley wine tours and Sonoma Limo wine tours. However, there is one thing that I really felt sorry for in the past although I indulge with my Napa-Sonoma wine tours. And again, I learned it the hard way.

You know that very popular school visits before you make your choice for a four-year life in college? I screwed that one up. Unlike my favorite Napa Valley limo wine tours where you have to prepare as to compensate with the luxury feel, I made the wrong choice on about everything. Here’s how.

I was with my dad during school visits. I am not your conventional friend who prepares. And that’s the word for it – Preparation. The night before the departure, I drank the night away with my barber. Sobriety was a scarcity. I had to be up at 5 in the dawn.

Of course my soft-spoken mother yelled at me. I took that cold shower, smoke a cigarette, bathroom rituals, and breakfast was served. My dad hired a limoto take me us to the school. My dad thought I deserved the pre-disowned phase of my life.

I victimized the visit. Since I was so drunk, I slept during the travel. I think I hurt my father’s effort. And that was just the start.

Some schools offer overnight stays for you to “feel” the school, right? We did that. I thought I will have my sober mind back in the morning. Problem was I forgot my toiletries because I was out of my head the morning before. No soap, no toothbrush, no nothing. We had to go to some convenient store to buy some.

The morning came and I got introduced to the staff. Since I had no real sleep, a spoiled liter of beer and meaty shredded kebabs from my disgusting mouth flooded the shiny white limousine services Napa-like floor of the office.

My dad was very disappointed and so was yours truly.

I went to the same school though. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and that made my dad happy. The honors never made up for my early behavior, though.
