This story goes back the day my niece, Claire, had passed the college entrance exam to the Ontario College of Art & Design, the training ground of the best artists, sculptors and painters, but she’s going to live with another aunt in Guelph to cut down on her expenses. She would definitely need to rent a car to travel in Toronto, I thought.
At first, I suggested to Claire’s parents that they get their daughter a unit in a dormitory close to the university. The idea of walking to school was much ideal but according to Claire’s folks, they’re living on a tight budget as my brother-n-law (Claire’s dad) just got laid off from work. It’s good that an aunt of Claire on the paternal side owns a house in Guelph, and said she would love to have her beautiful niece for company; apart from her two Labradors, the old lady practically lives alone.
Living in Guelph, however, would mean Claire has to travel more than an hour everyday to get to school; this is without the heavy traffic yet. What if an untoward incident unfortunately takes place and the road becomes congested? How can Claire possibly get to school on time? What’s worse imagining is the picture of a hungry Claire stuck on the road for hours.
To prevent these things from happening, I told Claire’s parents to try and consider a budget car rent in Toronto which is not only convenient for their daughter, but more affordable, too, than allotting a daily transportation allowance. By attending writing seminars time and again in the city, I have mastered the art of finding myself a budget-friendly rent a car service in Toronto area to escape the hassles that come with commuting.
Again, my sister and her hubby told me they can’t afford it so they immediately dismissed the idea. I reclaimed it and reminded them my statement had the word budget preceding rent a car since Toronto is famous for producing high quality products and services at drop down prices. I don’t live there, but the highly satisfactory experience I have had the opportunity of gaining from the city will say a lot more than the words in anybody’s blog.
Now, guess who won this debate.
