My latest stint as an entertainment news reporter holds more benefits than massive media exposure and wild hobnobbing with A-list stars. Apart from having a regular feature segment aired on Holly-Hood and attending a hundred or so events on a weekly basis, I get to travel all over the country to get entertainment scoops on-location. Every week I fly to some celebrity’s hometown and tour about town with said ‘off-duty’ star. This week’s all about Adam Baldwin keeping it real in Chicago, IL.

Nothing spells celebrity-on-tour better than luxury limo services in Chicago. With Adam’s Hollywood celebrity status, it was almost too easy for us to get hold of a Chicago limousine service that was up to par in style and class. After just a few calls – I was guessing reservations – we were just about ready to tour the town.

First stop was Schaumburg – limousine service, restaurant reservations and the itinerary of things to come all set. As Adam was scheduled to be ‘off-duty’, his PA has already pre-arranged everything for him, well, for us. I assumed that we were headed to Lynfred Winery as a man of Mr. Baldwin’s stature seemed to fancy exquisite wines and lavish locales. It wasn’t until we were seated comfortably at the back of the limo that I was told we were headed to Six Flags Great America. Great, I was theme park-ready in my breezy maxi dress and heavily embellished sandals. I might be jumping the gun in saying Mr. Baldwin and I would be the topic of celebrity fashion blogs in the coming days.

Spending half a day at a theme park can get anyone sore and aching, at least in my case as I had the wrong pair of shoes on. Adam, perhaps sensing my discomfort suggested we visit Mehndi Spa. I had visions of aromatherapy candles, therapeutic baths and relaxing massages whilst seated comfortably in the sleek Aurora limousine service. The mere thought of going to a spa was enough to comfort me, so much so that when we got to the place I was out cold.

As I was oblivious to Adam and the chauffeur’s attempts to wake me up, both thought it best to drop me off at a nearby hotel in Deerfield. The limousine service driver was gracious enough to carry me into the room at Embassy Suites Hotel, sparing my celebrity companion bad PR.

My mishaps would have made for an interesting feature segment had I remembered where I placed my camera. You see, I’m a one-man production crew and have to setup the equipment and do the filming myself whenever there’s an on-location shoot. Here’s hoping Adam Baldwin in Chicago isn’t my final segment.
