Guests to your website determine if they are going to stay or leave in less than a second of arriving. To say that initial perceptions have an immediate effect on the traffic that arrive at your site or blog would be an understatement. Have you ever walked into a shop just to turn around and walk right back out because you did not like the way it looked? I certainly have. The reality is it is much easier to "walk" out of a website that doesn't appeal to you than it is a physical store. If your guests don't see something aesthetically engaging right away the most of them disappear.

If it is correct that an image is worth a thousand words, adding the best quality visuals or pictures to a site illustrates right away to your visitor the degree of quality that your blog has to offer. This is correct whether you are selling a product, offering facts or just desire to share your passion about something.

You can get the photos you need by taking them yourself. Knowone knows your business, blog or visitors any better than you. You will know the types of pictures that will interest your guests and are correct for your niche. Understandably this will necessitate some skill and time. Worse than no photographs or graphics on a website are poor quality ones. So you will want a moderately good camera, good lighting and possibly some understanding of an image editing tool like Adobe Photoshop. Crisp, bright, colorful photographs are indispensable if they are to have the best effect .

If you do not know photoshop or do not have the time, there are several ways to get high quality pictures for very little cost. On the web it is extremely straightforward to recognize photos corresponding to hundreds of distinct subjects. For websites and blogs my favorite photographs to use are clip art pictures. A photo object or photo clip art image is a photo of an object (soccerball, guitar, fortune cookie, etc.) that has been cut out and has a transparent background so you see just the item. These are extremely easy to work with and look really great on a blog or toping a blog post.

(Tip: When utilizing any type of picture on your website be sure to use a descriptive "alt" tag for each picture. This greatly helps with search engine optimization. If you need more help with this try doing a search on bing for "how to alt tags" and you'll be sure to get the info you desire).

While blog graphics are just one component of a winning website design, adding professional quality images or photo objects will add to your sites appeal and go a long way towards capturing your visitors attention. Encouraging your guests to "walk" in once they arrive has just gotten a little easier.
