I have my personal favorites and in this article I want to share with you three of them. The three guitar players I'm going to talk about here aren't bound by style or sound and there not players you're going to suddenly start to copying even with the best online lessons.
How ever while you may not be able to copy these players styles what you can do is learn some of their songs and make some of how they play your own by incorporating it into your own style.
Jimmy Page
Jimmy Page is best known as the amazing guitarist for the four piece blues rock band Led Zepplin. Some of their amazing hits including "Whole Lotta Love", "Stairway to Heaven" and others illustrate Jimmy's amazing work on the guitar. If you're a guitar player and haven't heard of Page before then it's time to come out of your cave.
Zepplin's music and Jimmy's style of guitar playing has insired many to take blues guitar lessons in hope of learning some of the secrets to unlocking Page's unique playing and solo styles.
Before being a member of Led Zepplin Page was one of the guitarists for the UK band The Yardbirds.
Eric Clapton
Eric Clapton has made himself and the Fender Stratocaster famous for his amazing blues inspired guitar playing. While Clapton has been solo for the past couple of decades he has been a member of some great bands including Cream, Derek and the Dominos and as the a guitarist in the Yardbirds.
Clapton's career has spanned more then 50 years and he still continues to perform. Check out some of the amazing work he did with Cream such as "Whiteroom", with Derek and the Dominos such as "Layla" and of course his solo material such as "Tears in Heaven".
Jimi Hendrix
I leave the best for last. Jimi Hendrix had an unmatched gift for making the guitar sing. While his life was cut short he accomplished much in his short 7 year career. From his amazing performance at the original Woodstock concert to many of his notable tracks including: "Purple Haze", "Hey Joe" and "Little Wing".
Taking time to learn a complete Jimi Hendrix song takes patience but will go a long way to improving your guitar playing as a whole.
